The Humane Society of Greater New York is a 100 year old
non-profit established for the care of animals in need. Over the years, the Society has expanded with many new and different services and their space has expanded to accommodate many needs.
Ricardo Acosta Design Studio was selected to design the entire interior facility which includes their Museum Gallery and Store on the first floor, their Administrative Offices and 25 seat Auditorium along with State of the Art Conference Rooms on the second floor and a two bedroom luxury bedroom suite with an adjoining Terrace on the third floor which comfortably accommodates guest lecturers to speak at the Center.
The entire concept was to create and keep the feeling and design to a natural, free flowing space of openness throughout each floor.
The Museum Gallery space on the first floor provides a sophisticated and social space with floating partitions for a clean yet key element that gives an intuitive pathway throughout each section of the Gallery.
The second and third floors continued with a clean, welcoming feeling that takes into account every detail and all of the surrounds including lighting, acoustics, floors, ceilings, walls and natural light.
