This 19th Century Style,multi-level residential row house project, located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, was conceived based on the client’s desire for a pure yet elegant living space. This truly magnificent apartment evokes an emotion and spirit that we captured based on the client’s personal inspiration.
High ceilings comfortably accommodated several hand selected pieces of Biedermaier furniture. Rothko, Mondrian and Picasso art work brought personality and color to this sophisticated space, says Ricardo Acosta, Principle of Ricardo Acosta Design Studio. I used neutral colors on the walls and furniture, combining bamboo, stone, concrete and wood which heightened the visual focus of the environment and the exquisite paintings. There is a feeling of strong interconnection between all things living and nature. When you enter the residence, the environment has a clean, open and grand feeling. The placement of theinter-connected staircase was purposely placed in the middle of the space, almost invisible, to help define the areas without blocking the visual flow.
